Hey so I'm feeling a little bored right now and have nothing going on right now, so I thought I'd start a new PBF. If no one feels like playing right now, that's good too, but I feel like I'm probably not the only one who wants to play one right now.
So the Randomizer gave me:
Cosmitron vs:
K.N.Y.F.E (cmschex)
The Sentinels (Rabk)
Parse (dpt)
Team Leader Tachyon (Oaktree)
Setback (Powerhound_2000)
in the Freedom Tower
So if any one wants to play they are free to
I'll join if you only need a fifth as I don't want to be too greedy playing in multiple games. I don't have any major preference on which hero I would play
Crush your enemies, drive them before you, and laminate their women! - Guise, Prime Wardens #31
I'd be down for KNYFE
Coolio. You're in.
Also, Powerhound I have a feeling we may not fill up so there probably will be room
I'll take The Sentinels
Opening hand: Fling into Darkness, Horrifying Dichotomy, Durasteel Chains, Aura of Vision
...yeah, me too.
I've been hosting, but would like to play. I'll take Team Leader Tachyon.
(Starting hand: Hypersonic Assault, Accelerated Assault, HUD Goggles, Nimble Strike)
Oh, do I see a dig at my episode and round titles? j/k
Yeah I was going to reserve you a spot, but I couldn't find a way to word it that didn't sound like I would only let you play. Anyways you're in
No I just wanted to make a fun theme, but couldn't think of one. I was disappointed by that, so I tried to make a joke about it.
Or I was just jealous of your mad naming skills so I had to poke fun. One or the other, I'm not sure
I'll take whoever is left for the fifth spot then.
Setback starting hand: Fumbling Fool, Turn of Events, Looking Up x2
Crush your enemies, drive them before you, and laminate their women! - Guise, Prime Wardens #31
We have room for one more, then we will start
I'll take Parse, then (unless there's someone not currently involved in a PBF game that wants a spot).
Opening hand: Buffer Overflow, Gauge, Snap Decision, Critical Multiplier
So I'll wait an hour maybe 2, then I'll start with you Parse and Power hound as Setback.
*Scurries to find Cosmitron's character card on BGG*
Here.

Thankee. Wasn't really worried about it but that is convenient
So I'm just going to start, dpt and powerhound are in.

KNYFE, I think you forgot that Omnitron is a Device and so has 1 DR by the advanced text.
While I think it's intended for Cosmitron to be a device none of the villain card images I can find show that. It just lists it as solely a villain for both sides.
Crush your enemies, drive them before you, and laminate their women! - Guise, Prime Wardens #31
It's updated on the Oversized card I believe ( i dont have it in front of me)
If you look at the source of the images you are looking at you will see they are fan created, not official. If you look at the thread under the images on BGG you will see some helpful individual pointed out the fact that those images were missing the fact that Omnitron is a device.
Stop lurking, it makes you look like a villain target
When you do things right, people won’t be sure you’ve done anything at all
Temporary image until an H emoticon is added!
The card I'm using, is the interwebs, doesn't have it, so in this game at least he isn't a device
Ok matchstickman changed my mind. Moving on.
These are not the droids you are looking for!
I should also point out there's an error on the flip side text.
"At the end of the villain turn, Omnitron deals the minus 2 hero targets with the highest HP minus 1 energy damage each."
Stop lurking, it makes you look like a villain target
When you do things right, people won’t be sure you’ve done anything at all
Temporary image until an H emoticon is added!
I really messed up this one. Should have just pulled out my cards.
Civilized men are more discourteous than savages because they know they can be impolite without having their skulls split, as a general thing.
-Robert E. Howard, "The Tower of the Elephant"
I don't have my cards with me and thus can't conclusively confirm or deny, but I'm pretty certain that he's listed as a Device on the printed card.
The Sentinels' turn will depend on where we need damage. If Setback wants to use Looking Up, then The Idealist or Parse can put out that seventh point of damage to blow up his toys and I can play my Chains. If Setback would rather play the top card of his deck, however, I'll drop a Horrifying Dichotomy on him. Just let me know, Powerhound_2000.
[Edit: I suppose I also need to know whether Parse plans on using Gauge's power. Writhe can do a weak scry, but not if The Idealist needs to zap the robot to let Parse look at the top of the deck instead.]
...yeah, me too.
Yeah I thought it was H-1 not H but didn't know any better
I want to try to play Fumbling Fool and then the Risk power so I could play Turn of Events next round. However, if something needed punched still by my turn to get rid of the drone or components I planned to use Looking up. Though depending upon what TLT has me draw before my turn I may have another option altogether.
Crush your enemies, drive them before you, and laminate their women! - Guise, Prime Wardens #31
I was planning to bring out Snap Decision, hoping not to run into Sedative Flechettes. So no scrying from me this round (and 1 point of damage).
Incidentally, the google doc spreadsheet has the correct text:

Notes: Since Parse can knock out the components with her packet of 1, I'm going to hang on to my Dichotomy as insurance against Electrical Pulses. For the scrying, please move to the top if it's a component or drone while discarding EPE, Adaptive Plating, Flechettes, or Terraforming. If it's a Singularity we'll need Tachy to chime in before deciding its fate: if she wants to play her Goggles this turn we'll dump the Singularity, or, if she's willing to hold off on the Goggles, we'll move it to the top of the deck to slow him down instead.
...yeah, me too.
Parse
HP: 22

HP: 22
Hand: Buffer Overflow, Gauge, Critical Multiplier, Between the Lines

Additional effects: At the start of my turn, may discard 1 card to play a card.
Willing to hold off on the HUD Goggles if that will slow him down. Current hand won't benefit from the extra play given Omnitron's DR.
Do we want to put a point or two of damage on the Automation Drone simply to reduce its damage output? That would depend of course on the optimal course of action for Setback.
And wouldn't we want to discard a drone in any case? On Omnitron's flipped side playing a drone triggers another villain deck play, and it will flip at the start of the next round.

I drew a Plucky Break from TLT. Once Oaktree can post the full turn for TLT I'm fine going with Looking Up to hit the drone.

EPE is revealed and discarded
Parse draws Reveal the Flaws.
Ah, I overlooked extra card play from drones on his back side, thanks. Let's discard drones as well, please. (That power is much less useful now; oh well.) I thought about putting 2 damage on the Automation Drone to reduce its output, but that saves 2 damage to highest now vs. 3 to all heroes if an EPE comes out - I thoght it would be better to hang on to it until we had some better damage output potential on the table.
Sentinels drew Team Communication from TLT's power.

Wow, so the deck manipulation just got more complicated. We have, in turn order,
(I guess it's not a coincidence that all those cards come from Vengeance.) I'm not sure if/how we can best exploit all that, plus the possibility of, eg, timing the killing of Drones.
The Maintenance Bay is going to muck with Tachyon accumulating burst cards I guess. But on this side I can Hypersonic Assault Omnitron to shut down his damage, and the one drone's damage, for a turn. Or I can save that in case the other EPE turns up.
Did you see that? That glorified mechanic's shop just retracted the bomb I just got finished extracting! What's wrong with your stupid headquarters, anyway? I'll bet it's that Twain woman you let run loose in here for so long - the whole dang building probably has it in for heroes now. Why aren't we fighting in space or underwater or someplace sensible instead! *grumble grumble shouldn't have to put up with grumble moan too bright anyway rrrrrrr stupid lights on those stupid tinman suits grrroan*

...yeah, me too.
KNYFE already killed the Repair Drone. Presumably you'll hit Omnitron itself, putting it at 91.
(It's also slight inefficient to be killing drones like that; Tachyon is going to be playing either Accelerated Assault or Hypersonic Assault, so it's better to leave targets at 1HP for her, and if she does the Hypersonic Assault it's not really worth killing the Automaton Drone.)
I'll asume I'm healing by 1HP, as the 3HP healing should go to either Tachyon or Setback, I think.
Parse
HP: 18
Hand: Buffer Overflow, Gauge, Critical Multiplier, Between the Lines, Reveal the Flaws
In play: Snap Decision
Start of turn: Discard Between the Lines. Play Critical Multiplier.
Play a card: Buffer Overflow
Use a power: Pinpoint Shot. Deal 2 projectile damage to Cosmitron (89?)
Draw a card: Impossible Shot
End of turn:
HP: 18
Hand: Reveal the Flaws, Gauge, Impossible Shot
In play: Snap Decision, Critical Multiplier, Buffer Overflow
Trash: Between the Lines
Additional effects: At the start of my turn, may discard 1 card to play a card. (Snap Decision)
When I discard a card, select a hero target and increase damage dealt by 1. (Critical Multiplier)
When a villain card would enter play, you may discard it instead and destroy this card. When this card is destroyed, draw a card and play the top card of the villain deck. (Buffer Overflow)
I mainly want to veto Sedative Flechettes at the moment, or maybe Terraforming depending on how many environment cards we get out. I don't think Electro-Pulse Explosive is so bad, I think we could take it down.
Meh, that's what I get for trying to play quickly and not reading previous posts thoroughly. Thanks, dpt. Let's move all my damage over to Omnitron [91; 89 after Parse's turn] - I'll edit the post when I can get on something other than my mobile. (Does everyone else's compose/edit box absolutely bite on mobile, or is that just me?)
Humble-Knight, could you start putting a "cards-in-play" section at the end of Omnitron's turn summaries, please? It's kinda hard to figure out which targets are available with the current format. Thanks.
...yeah, me too.
I'd like the three health as I'm likely to beat myself up a bit.

Yup. I may or may not edit what's up now, but the next turn will definently have it.
Also to be clear, dpt, you were referring to your buffer?
