We are doing it again.
So claim heroes and after the decks are finalized I'll announce the villain. hehehe.
You are limited to four hero decks.
And now the teaser:
Mobile Defense Platform, some years ago.
An old man steps out of the shadows. "It is time Ivan, you must come."
"I've told you before I will not be joining your "hunt," I have work to finish here." Blade replied.
Suddenly the man was on him, with a knife to his throat.
"I am done asking Baron, you will join me, you will help me destroy our enemies."
Blade Smiled, and the old man flew across the room, the smell of electrocution was unmistakable.
"You don't give orders here," Blade loomed over the huddled form of his attacker, "I've been ready for you."
"And I you!" The man grabbed Blade by the ankle and they disappeared.
. . .
I will grab The Visionary, Omnitron-X and, if Oaktree doesn't object, Chrono-Ranger. The time I've spent imagining possible villain decks I could put together is coming back to haunt me now...
EDIT: I get the feeling environment-building would just be cruel...
EDIT #2: Scrap that. Omnitron-X and Unity, please.
“You gotta have blue hair."

I've got at least Fixer, more heroes to come after others have been claimed.
I'd like to give it a shot with Parse, Nightmist, Tachyon, and maybe Legacy, for a deck of discarding denial.
For Nightmist, I intend to give every card not from her deck a random spell value from 1 to 4 (avoiding duplicates of the same name), if that seems fair.
dpt - do you mind if I hang onto Tachyon? I want to try my deck again.
If that's cool, I'll stick with Naturalist, Haka, Tachyon, Scholar.
Sure. I think my concept needs Nightmist and Parse, but I have some flexibility otherwise.
How are you going to do that in game?
The Number thing with Nightmist.
What is still available? If Unity and Chrono-Ranger are wanted already I guess I will start anew and just keep the Ra* deck on paper to be resurrected at some point if these challenges continue.
OK, I put something together:
Expatriette (character card)
Expatriette (10), Tempest (15), Ra (7), KNYFE (8) decks. Built another damager that can bring out some support and a few cards that can destroy on-going or environmental cards.
If someone wants to use one of these decks instead of me I might be able to shift into another deck. Though I would want to keep the Tempest deck since card draw capability is needed to some degree - and which I was using Chrono-ranger and Unity for in the last deck.
It might be more reasonable, though, to just count cards without numbers as having a spell value of 0.
Sorry for taking Unity, but I don't want Chrono, so he's still up for grabs.

I think the current roster is as follows, assuming grysql keeps Tachyon. Character card in '[]'
BHMeerkat - [Omnitron-X], Unity
Ronway - [Setback], Fixer, Wraith, Chrono-ranger
Oaktree - [Expatriette], Tempest, Ra, KNYFE
dpt - [Nightmist], Parse, Legacy, Sentinels
grysql - [Naturalist], Haka, Tachyon, Scholar
====
Unclaimed Heroes:
Absolute Zero, Argent Adept, Bunker, Fanatic, Visionary
(updated for additional selections)
Considering everyone looks to be just about done, I think i'll go with Fixer, Wraith, Chrono-Ranger, and Setback.
Edit: I guess I should also state that I will be using Setback's character card.
Win or lose I suspect that something epic is going to occur.
Is everyone ready?
Decks Built?
Last Rites Recieved?
Next of Kin Notified?
Bring it on.
I will be using Nightmist, with cards from Nightmist, Parse, Sentinels, and Legacy. I'm ready to go!
Initial hand: Mistbound (4), Recompile, Amulet of the Elder Gods (3), Extrasensory Awareness.
(I'll be playing that non-Nightmist cards have spell value 0.)
My Omintron-X-Unity hybrid is ready, using Omni's card. Bring the noise.

dpt - [Nightmist], Parse, Legacy, Sentinels
grysql - [Naturalist], Haka, Tachyon, Scholar

=====
My initial comments (based only on above since I don't know deck contents beyond my own)
1. I look forward to watching Ronway do something interesting with both Jim's Hat and Utility Belt in play. And with access to both Displaced Armory *and* Impromptu Invention I suspect that he can roll (or re-roll) equipment out rapidly.
2. OX/Unity - I'm not sure what this will do. Some sort of component/golem circus I suspect. Timeshift power a good way to put golems in play without sacrificing equipment.
3. Grysql's Naturalist deck was in play last game and was a useful tank/support deck.
4. My deck is geared towards playing one-shots. Lots of one-shots. With some abiltiy to roll-out some powers and turn to those if hand size gets low. Still intended as an attack deck for the most part though.
5. The Nightmist deck should be interesting. The Parse/Legacy/... combo did pretty well last game, so I expect that this one will as well. However, we don't have Greatest Legacy as a character with the useful Gung-ho default power.
Sorry! I have been too distracted playing SotM to actually sit down and work on the deck. I'll have it done within the hour.
Edit: And now i'm ready!
Interior, ULTIMATE Freedom Tower, The ULTIMATE Heroes are sitting around discussing how ridiculously OP they all are when suddenly:
-SMASH-
"What was that?"
"It Sounds Like Something is attacking the ULTIMATE Freedom Tower!"
"What could it be?"
Exterior, a giant robot is attacking the ULTIMATE Freedom Tower, but it has a cockpit and inside. . .
"AHAHAHAHA! Now you will suffer, ULTIMATE Heroes!"
"Oh no, it's Baron Blade, Piloting Omnitron!"

Comment: Sorry for the delay - Monday evenings are busy.
Not too familiar with Cosmic Omni-tron. If I should skip drone clipping and just go for the big Bot himself only let me know and I will modify tactics. I figure clipping the S-84's damage down a bit was worth doing in any case since it was a multiple target attack.
BOOO!!!
Stinking Heroes.
Hmm, I hope Naturalist can do some damage.

So, the villain deck will be shut down for two rounds now. That should help, as long as the Explosive doesn't kill us.
If there is one thing you should absolutely not count on the Naturalist for, it is to deal damage. All is not lost, though.

Nightmist draws Heroic Interception and regains 2HP (18).
I just figured out what was going on with the flipping. We definitely want him flipped back, yay Omnitron-X!
Setback draws Sudden Contract. Then takes 3 damage [20], to use Looking Up to gain 3 tokens [7], and deal the EPE 3 damage [4]
Expat is timeshifted and reveals Energy Burn. It is put into play and inflicts 4 energy damage on the EPE [x].
--- back to Proverbs and Axioms ---
Draw Ball Lightning.
Take 3 damage [21]. Use Load and play Arsenal Access - Reveal until Tactical Shotgun and Staff of Ra are found. Put Tactical Shotgun into play.
(Thank you folks and well done. We appreciate the support.)
could make it really random if you have a d4 and just roll it each time?
I'm of a mind that non-Nightmist cards really should be 0. If you're going to give them numbers, then does that mean that all of the non-Tachyon cards in my deck should have a 50% chance of being burst cards? By gaining some of the benefits of other decks, we naturally lose some of the strengths of our own.
That's it for Proverbs and Axioms. Environment is up.
Sorry about that, let's go with the Environment turn:

Draw: Imbued Fire
End of Turn:
-------------------------------------------------------
HP - 21
In Play: Staff of Ra, Tactical Shotgun
Hand: Prejudice, Ball Lightning, Imbued Fire
Trash: Chain Lightning, Energy Burn (x2), Arsenal Access
Effects:
Comment: Net +1 damage dealt (+1 By Any Means, +1 Staff of Ra, -1 Cosmic Omnitron Adv capability)
2nd Comment: Suspect that Imbued Fire is not a good play since Omnitron probably has Adaptive Plating Routines available. Or do we favor the "all fire, and more of it!" approach in order to possibly speed things up?
I have a Cause and Effect that will be able to destroy an Ongoing, so if the Adaptive Plating does come out, I could destroy it no problem!
Adaptive Plating is annoying, but I don't think it has the oomph to earn a place in a custom deck. Plus Setback can break it.
“You gotta have blue hair."

I also realize that I have an on-going destruction card on hand as well (Lightning Ball). So prepare for some extra fire next round unless an extra draw occurs that brings out something "better".
This was a while ago, but S-84 should have dealt 2 energy damage, not 1.
Nope it deals 2 damage, but Naturalist has DR1.
