Who likes pirates? I want to send you pirates.

To achieve this, I have started my very first Kickstarter!

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/peterchayward/scuttle-the-pirate-ca...

(Christopher was very excited to be the first person to back my first ever Kickstarter.)

(He also insists that people check out the video.)

Hey, I'm a pirate!

Question: What makes this worth purchasing over just a standard deck of cards? It uses all the suits, numbers, and even Jokers. And...go! =)

All the rules text is written on the cards; you could play with a lookup table, but that would be slower and less engaging. And less pretty. And would require Peter to send you a table of all the card text.

The better question is, why would you purchase a regular deck of cards instead of this?

Because when you do the 52 card pickup trick you bend the cards.  So you need a cheap deck.

Because I've rewritten and refined the rules substantially, plus the art is g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s. It's so pretty!

What I've learned from this Kickstarter video:

-Your hair and beard are actually blue for this. That's awesome.
-Christopher makes a great pirate.

The game looks cool, and while my game group probably won't play it (we usually prefer thicker games and have more than 3 people), I like the concept of the company and have $20 to chip in. Best of luck!

This is definitely true. We've seen video of him taking a ship...

Hmm. I might back your game.

I put off a lot of stuff so I could back Oblivaeon so I'll have to wait and see, but it looks promising. :)

Thanks guys!

(Also, if you are worried about player count, keep an eye on the campaign! We just unlocked 4-player mode, and are hurtling towards unlocking 5 players as well.)

(Also also, my hair and beard are always blue! Ask anyone here who has met me. :D)

It looks like fun. But I'm going to have to wait until later on in the campaign to see if I'll have enough (although, it's incredibly reasonable, so it will more likley than not be a yes)

Not sure why your hair is so sad all the time.

I'm guessing because all the hairs around them have dyed...

I have a quick question about the rules (since I can't comment on the page before I back, you'll see my reason why above). Do you just have to collect over 21 dubloons to win, or does it need to be exactly 21?

Much like a night club, it's 21 or over!

Although the expansion ("The Curse of Black Jack") adds a new action which lets you play the top card of the deck as points. If it takes you over 21 doubloons, you lose them all!

I was away from my SotM game for a month and I actually did this. Wasn't half as fun though.
