Weekly One Shot #137: Beginning of the End

Surpisingly with that title you’re not fighting Progeny.

Ambuscade vs Prime Wardens Haka, Termi-Nation Unity, GI Bunker and Benchmark in Enclave of the Endlings. Randomised start.

That's gotta be a S&D Benchmark setup, but darned if I know how.

Possible Action Hero Stuntman prereq match too?

I'll put things in here later.

Tried it. Mint but hard, Ambuscade kept using charged attack and bazooka.

No unlock. Not sure if it was a hint or not. Ambuscade and benchie don't seem to have a lot in common storywise.

Judging by the title I would guess a Stuntman prereq, yeah.

Mint, pretty easy. Benchmark did most of the work, though the Bots helped.

I tried winning against Ambuscade with each Haka dealing the final blow. Nothing ... I guess I'll let Ambuscade win all the fights.

I actually ended up having a pretty good match.

Really satisfying ending in which Ambuscade was down to 1 HP and pulled out his Cloaking Device (for the 4th time) it would have bought him some time but Benchmark used Threat Neutralizer.... bye bye Ambuscade. I actually don't know if I ever beat Ambuscade on his flipped side before.

Mint.

Could be a hint for unlocks?

At any rate, the heroes had their way with Ansel. Final round had an 8 card fueled Haka of Battle Taiaha strike, a triple Raptor Bot swarm, and a 6 card fueled Omni Cannon blast. Ouch.

Haka 20HP, Unity 15HP, Bunker 18HP, and Benchmark 20HP.

Easy, fun Mint. Actually made me pay attention to what Benchmark cards I was playing instead of just "spam Hardware", "okay, now spam Software".

Easy mint, but since it’s a random start YMMV.

I went for a pretty straightforward beat down. Haka did most of the damage because he drew Taiaha early, and Unity and Benchmark kept giving him extra uses. Hasty Augmentation makes for 2 hits of 5 damage each. Ambuscade did have a sonic mine out, but when I got a chance Haka did a ground pound and then smashed it.

Bunker went into Recharge Mode with heavy plating and the Omni Cannon in hand. He kept drawing cards and feeding them to the cannon, but never ended up firing it. Haka took down Ambuscade via the aforementioned Hasty Augmentation before his turn came up.

Unity was a near second in damage output. An early Flash Forge let me put Swift Bot and Hasty Bot into play via a pylon, and then she put Platform Bot, Raptor Bot, and Cryo Bot into play. Ambuscade likes to rely on his toys, and Cryo Bot is good for whittling them down (along with incidental damage to the hordes of Endlings that showed up due to Hall of the Terminarch.)

Ambuscade only got his cloaking device out once, and I smashed it the same turn.

I appreciated the gimme since I have a funeral this week on top of Gen Con. Unity got seven bots out and Bunker had a 12-card Omni-Cannon ready to go after Haka ate the Cloaking Device.

Easy Mint.  Unity spent the first two turns double-skipping, as her first 6 cards were: 1 Scrap Metal and 5 bots.  She started building up while Ambuscade was flipped, and then when Haka ate the Cloaking device with Savage Mana, (Nom), her bots and bunker's External Combustion took out everything else.  Benchmark was somewhat useful, but didn't get much in the way of setup cards other than the Hardware seeker.

Has anyone translated the French blurb? This might be a clue?

Here is the translation

I know it will be my greatest challenge.

I followed my prey through time and space.

Here in this strange place I will set my traps and end the hunt.

You were a worthy opponent, but you are no match for me!

... good luck finding a clue here ...

Mint.

Super easy, but I also got extremely lucky. Ambuscade didn’t flip once, and I didn’t see any face-up traps.

Not sure if this a clue or something for an unlock, I’ll have to keep brainstorming ideas.

Ok so this one shot is a hint for one of the unlock.

...

... ... ...

... ... ... ... ...

I guess the hint is 'Do weekly one shots until the unlock button is available.'

And that's my cue to leave. Good luck finding conditon that cannot possibly be found even with useless nonsensical ''hint''.
