Let's draft - Dodgeball!

OK, we have drafting in Tactics, but I was wondering how the characters would be drafted in different sports and events. So here is my idea. The first 8 people to sign up in this thread will be the captain of their teams. After we have our 8 captains, I will say what sport we are playing, and the draft will begin. When it is your turn, say what character's deck you are darfting, and, more importantly, why you drafted them. After the teams are drafted, we will have a vote to see which team wins each round. Fun? I think so! So, who are our captains.

EDIT: All the info you need is here. When it is your turn (hopefully, the document will say so correctly), select your name by the deck you want, and, hopefully, everything should be updated. Also, post in this thread who you picked and why. Also, pick a team name!

I'm in, and I'm first picking omnitron.  No matter what sport you play, he player that can sit on over half the court/field/rink/etc. wins.

I don't think you get to draft yet, Skippy. I guess I'll also play.

Woohoo! First one! Ok, to encourage people to join, when you join you can pick your first player. Once, aeveryone picks we will reverse the order (just like real sports). So, what game are we playing.......DODGEBALL!!! There will be 5 characters per team.

EDIT: Nielzabub, changed the rules a bit, pick your first character.

YES!  Omnitron will crush at Dodgeball.  Balls that are disintigrated can't hit you.  Plus if he gets hit once he's immune to that type of attack for the rest of the game, all I need is someone to catch a ball and get him back in, he'll be invincible!

Although Line fouls might be a bit of a problem.

EDIT:  One Question:  Does an Interpolation beam count as catching?

I'll choose Tachyon to play for my team for obvious reasons.

Skippy, just because you're immune to an attack doesn't mean it can't hit you. Omnitron doesn't have to take damage from the ball, he just has to be hit by it. The disintegration ray is a problem, but I'm sure Tachyon can throw more balls than he can destroy at once.

Interpolation Beam catches all the balls, you lose.

Interpolation Beam still has to be shot out of Omnitron. I think Tachy can still find a way around that.

Those Lightning Reflexes go a long way. Thanks for the good wishes. Good to know that good sportsmanship still exists in this day and age.

Yeah, and don't worry about the audience being replaced by automaton Drones.  Just rest assured that Omnitron is all about sportsmanship and annihilating all humans fair play.

I actually have a question about team characters. If the Sentinels were picked, would they count as 1 player or as 4? Would picking La Capitain or Citizen Dawn automatically get access to their crew and citizens?

Ok, official ruling here. You pick one deck, not character. So, phantaskippy will have access to all the drones and EPE. Also, for those characters that have promo cards, you can pick which promo you are.

For the next round, before you start picking villains with a lot of minions, keep in mind that many of the villains won't work well together. They aren't used to working as a team like the heroes (well except for the V5).

Of course, you don't have to convince me that your team works, you have to convince everybody.

What order are we doing the second round?

Just curious since one specific player {cough} committed to this endeavor before knowing the sport or rules.

Yeah, Legacy wins. He redirects all the dodgeballs to himself, even when sitting on the sidelines!

EDIT: As I'm last I'm also first! Legacy picks Tempest, so the game can be called on account of tornado if things turn badly for our team.

Can we get a list up somewhere with the decks still available to be drafted?

Lead From the Front only redirects damage from villains. It will still definitely be a huge advantage, but it won't completely negate all the balls being thrown at your team.

Omnitron and myself prefer the 5 -ate's of Dodgeball: Disintigrate, Interpolate, Aniihilate, Exterminate and Disintigrate.

It's like a cross of Patches O'Houlihan and that one stretch where the Daleks got super-annoying.

If the ball accidentally hits Legacy because we were trying to hit someone else, then they're not really throwing the ball at him. Also, since Legacy is on your team, that makes him Jerk Legacy and hitting him with a ball is doing the world a public service.

Ugh....really sorry about this. I initially aetup up eight teams to make the rounds easier, and now we already have dradts going back and forth. If this works out, you get a spot in the bext one.

Since this seems to be going to well, let me explain what will happen after the teams are drafted. After all the teams are made, I will setup a bracket. For each round of the bracket, the captains will give a narrative/description of what happened in the game and how their team won. Then, we will put the vote to the community. Each person can vote on which narrative was the real one. The team with the most votes moves on to the next round, where they will post a new narrative. I probably should have asked them first, but GtG will decide which teams wins on the last round, and crown one team the ultimate champions of SotM dodgeball.

Since this isn't a professional league, you are allowed to bribe and threaten people to vote for you.
