Yesterday morning, my daughter was practicing piano, and she played they hymn "Count Your Blessings". And I suddenly thought of "Into the Stratosphere" and started chuckling. The first line alone is golden, but there are some other great bits in there, too. I'll never hear that hymn the same way again, and I'll be referring to that card as "Count Your Blessings" from now on...
The only problem is how few people will appreciate this. I need a Venn diagram showing the overlap of people familiar with this hymn AND fans of SOTM...
"When upon life’s billows you are tempest-tossed,"
Nice!
Hi. My name's Andy. Feel free to call me Andy, since, ya know, that's my name. (he/him/his)
If I am not for myself, who will be for me? If not now, when? If I am for myself alone, what am I? -- Hillel
I'd fall in the center if such a venn diagram existed. So "I got that reference".
There are some other lines in the song that take on a whole new meaning in context of the card art:
"ev'ry doubt will fly"
"...your reward in heaven nor your home on high"
"angels will attend...to your journey's end"
