Villains game -- Biomancer and Bastion for the loss

Played a Villains game last night: Prime Wardens Tempest, Alt-Sentinels, and Captain Cosmic vs. Plague Rat, Hammer and Anvil, and Biomancer in Magmaria.

All the villain decks were new to us. My playtesting on Villains was scant. We eventually managed to take down Hammer and Anvil, but did just a small amount of damage to Plague Rat and effectively none to Biomancer before losing.

Bastion. Oi this card!

I gave Durasteel Chains to the Magmarians in order to have them beat on Anvil. THAT was a hard choice.

My one game of Villains involved both Plague Rat and the Adamant Sentinels.  We gave Writhe his Caliginous Form, and then let Plague Rat kill everyone else.  It worked pretty well!

Bastion used to be so much worse.

What does Bastion do? We've only fought a group containing Biomancer once and he basically destroyed us with a little help from the others :P.

Bastion reduces damage to all villain targets except Citizen Anvil by 2. It only gets destroyed if another position card is played or if Anvil gets incapped at which point Anvil goes back to 5HP

Reduce damage dealt to Villain character cards other than Citizen Anvil by 2.

If Citizen Anvil is incapacitated, flip him, restore him to 5HP and destroy this card.

It's evil, I say. EEEVIIIL.

I actually like Bastion because it leaves play if you take out Anvil.

Oh, it's a Hammer-and-Anvil card? Okay, that's one reason I hadn't heard of it, then :D (the implication in this thread had been that it was a Biomancer card). I've only fought them once and that was last Sunday at the London meet, and I don't know if it came up because I wasn't handling their deck. Sounds like a bit of a pain in the arse, though. That one in Miss Information's deck that makes villain targets immune to damage is a pain too, though at least that's an Ongoing that can be dealt with the normal way (assuming you have someone who can do that ;))...

It didn't. If it had, you would probably have heard me swearing :P
