I'm extremely pleased to hear that "every game is canon"! From the beginning, this is how I interpreted it on the meta level, and it's nice seeing that my interpretation was correct. So much good stuff in this podcast...!
Does "Every game is canon" include the game where I stopped bothering Baron Blade so that AZ could repeatedly light himself on fire, or the games where all the heroes suicided in order to get an unlock? I'm not sure I want every game to be canon.
"Do you not know that a man is not dead while his name is still spoken?"
That would be a much darker take on that timeline. Haka locks himself inside Con's Bunker and waits for the heroes to sort things out amongst themselves or get killed off, whichever comes first.

Can I just say that one thing I'd really like to see, going forward with the podcast, is that each episode include a suggestion from Christopher of one game setup that depicts an iconic comic issue related to the topic of that episode?
I know, we're getting all that in the world-guide for RPG, but it'd still be neat to get some game content out of the podcast, too. :)
Aw man! The Christopher and Adam song is just so damned pleasant! Like, I want to gush about their creativity, and how well they understand the history of comics and how these characters are so much more than the sum of their parts, but that song just puts me to sleep in a good way!
I'm thrilled that you like the song. I'll pass your words along to my brother. He's a professional musician, and since Adam and I have been friends for over 20 years, he grew up knowing Adam as well. So, when I told him we were doing a podcast and what it was about, he threw that song together in an afternoon in his studio. Without me even asking for it. What a dork.
I love that kid.

Something I've been curious about is the referance to the different story-arcs and more specifically the books. Obviously there's the quotes at the bottom of each of the cards and it got me thinking if there is/was an actual comic book series in the universe, or if it's based on a plot-line that happens through the expansions of the games and the characters. and if there's a comic series, how would one get their hands on it?!
In the effort of doing stupid things, I'm a FLIPPIN' Genius! -Me.
There is currently one issue of The Freedom Four, available on the GtG website. There will be a comic coming with OblivAeon. Other than that, the comics only exist as quotes and art on cards. That said, Christopher and Adam have fully planned out the comics history. You could pick any card in the game with attributed flavortext, and they could tell you what happened in that comic, which heroes and villains were in it, and where it fits in the publishing history of Sentinels Comics. Most of what we know of the storyline has been pieced together from card art and quotes, character bios on the website and video game, Words of God from Christopher and Adam, and the ARC that lead up to OblivAeon (which featured a few comic covers and summaries) The details have been pretty well collated by the wiki that Lynkfox manages, and of course we're now getting new info from the Letters Page.
All in all, Christopher and Adam have done an incredible job of telling a cohesive story in a non-linear format. The only comparable example I know of is Magic: the Gathering, and it took them two decades to figure out how to do it right.

I am going to be out of town next Friday, so Adam and I are going to be recording the April 4th episode on this coming Monday. We didn't realize it in time, so we didn't announce it (episodes are still releasing on the same times and days), but as a result, we only have a (high) single digit number of questions on that episode's subject: NightMist! SO! Faithful forumites! Now is the time to use our question form and ask all the NightMist questions you have! We'll be recording Monday morning, so please get your questions in before then.
We can totally do the episode with just the questions we already have, but I'd hate to not give you fine folks a chance to have your voices heard. Also, I think the epidoes with lots of good questions are just better.
Thanks, heroes!

Thanks everyone for all the great questions! For those of you who haven't yet submitted any, you've still got about 24 hours left to get them in!
It's really been a blast making The Letters Page happen, and one of my favorite parts is reading all of the comments and questions from all of you - know that I do go through and read every single one to figure out which ones will be the best to use on the air.
You're all great!

It's a terrible idea how dare you use an existing subforum for this!

Seems fine to me!
So, new thread or split off discussion from when episode 1 was posted into a new thread and clean up my rambling? :)
As I understand it there is some crossover with Fabled Nexus products, where then should The Letters Page go if that is ever discussed?

After today's mini-sode, I think I will be spending many a game shouting, "EVERY GAME IS CANON!" as a rallying cry.
That concept is excellent.
Agreed!

With that in mind, in my experience, there are a lot of multiverses out there comprised of nothing but pain. c.c

Or, how about when I purposely have my team beat each other up so Haka can be the last hero alive for an unlock condition?

Looking forward to tomorrow's podcast. Besides most of the standard questions, I'm expecting a few about the relationship between Bunker and Wraith.
Can I just say that one thing I'd really like to see, going forward with the podcast, is that each episode include a suggestion from Christopher of one game setup that depicts an iconic comic issue related to the topic of that episode?

Is there a set time of day(Like 10am, noon or 5 pm) that we can expect the podcast to be avaliable, or is it up once it's finished?
Just want to know if I'll need to check the podcast page every hour or two or not.
Episode three up http://theletterspage.libsyn.com/episode-3-the-wraith

They're counting the 'interludes' as episodes, which they technically are. They're just shorter.
Thanks! I'll be sure to listen once I'm home from work. :)
The page lists episode two but the address bar says three. Doesn't matter much overall.

We are "naming" it "Episode 2", but the podcast hosting service disagrees :)

I don't do well under pressure. :(
I just submitted around 13 questions (the exact number varies depending on how you count exactly). I hope that helps!

yeah I posted a bunch of questions too. I tried to stay away from ones I think others would ask so hopefully every base can get covered.

Shoot! I Totally forgot to ask any questions related to Nightmist and BugBear! UGH. Did anyone here remember to do that?
I did not ask about Bugbear in my questions. Most of my stuff was related to card art.
