Mini Expansions: When where they revealed and for what stretch rewards? (Ie: Chokepoint, Villains of the Multiverse Pre Order at x preorders) This is stuff that i've always ment to dig for, and never really remembered too xD
expansion for Sentinels of the Multiverse adds ten Vengeance-style Villains and two Environments.
For every copy of Villains of the Multiverse you order, you will also receive three art prints, a set of 7 promo cards, a villain mini-expansion, and an environment mini-expansion!
and in case i wasnt clear (cause i probably wasnt) i mean alllllll the mini expansions. From Unity through Benchmark. xD
and update on progress. I have the day off (dentist appointment in a few hours, ugh) so minor villains are finished, box editions are done (including Prime War and Rise of the Ennead). Left to do:
Environments, ARG Event, Comics, random other pages. Update Hero/Villain pages to include notice they have a Prime War or Rise of the Ennead slot.
getting a bit tired of it right now (Been doing it for the last 3 hour or so) so going to break, probably will work on Environments tomorrow night (when the wife is at class) and finish up this weekend perhaps. Maybe next week. Depends on how much Deus Ex sucks me in.
After environemnts, arg, and comics are done I'll probably open it up to any and all to start getting the bugs fixed - broken links, miss spellings, ect. And adding anything else that needs/is found.
Well, the one major problem with a domain of our own, means we combat spammers.
It was going OK, but last night we got hit hard by a spam bot creation, and had over 10000 script executions, our daily limit. The site wont be affected until we hit 150% then it would be temporarily shut down for the day for exceeding limits.
Well, thats not good that its spam doing that. So I shut off account creation. There is a note on the front page on how to create an account ont he Wiki if you want one.
In other news, if anyone has the time and motivation, please contact me to discuss becoming a mod on the wiki to help clean that stuff up, and to be available to create new accounts.
Yeah, I was going to recommend something about that; there's extensions and settings out there to do things like force new accounts to require admin approval, allow only users to create or edit pages, add CAPTCHAs, and such.

In the battle against SPAM on the wiki, the following manuevers have been performed.
Play: Disable Account Creation - For the time being, all accounts can only be created by Admins. At the time of this post, that is Lynkfox and Powerhound (Sonvar), but UMX will be joining those ranks as soon as the site is back up.
Power: CAPTCHA! I thought I enabled it. The settings are all there.... except the one that tells the wiki to run the captcha script.... *headslam* well, ok. Thats been added. It is set for the time being as edits all require a captcha to process, but we are using the new google reCaptcha - which is, for the most part, invisible if you are already proven to google. You may or may not see it. We'll see how much it helps
Draw: New attempt: dns spam blacklisting, through a honeypot - I've enabled the DNS blacklist, which runs whenever an edit is made, and if the address of the editor is on a DNS honeypot blacklist, then it returns a 403/forbidden.
When the site comes back up we'll see how that helps, and go about cleaning up the crap from the spambots.
If any users experience difficulties in editing the site, let me know. Honestly, the account creation disable is something I don't want, because it means a lot of extra work for moderators of the wiki, plus a lot of waiting for the people involved. But it is the first line of defense, because spam bots/users won't attempt to contact any of us to get an account created. However, hundreds upon hundreds of accounts were created last night, and not all of them have been blocked. They can still edit pages until they are blocked, and will be a potential threat - hence the captcha and the dns blacklisting. Hopefully we'll get through cleaning up the site, and then move on and be able to remove a few of the restrictions (the account creation is the one I'm hoping for... but feel like it is a lost cause)
Such is the world we live in on the internet.
When the site comes back up, in the morning I'll be adding a bit to the front page to direct potential new wiki users to this thread for processing of a new account.
Keep in mind that you can actually block entire ranges of IPs, which might help in quickly blocking more than one bad user until you can finish individually blocking everyone.
If you want to buy even more time at the cost of locking out legit edits for a time, you can also temporarily change user group permissions so only admins can edit anything at all until you're done, do all the blocking and deleting and reverting you need to do, then change things back.
Also, I might recommend switching to account confirmation, which might make things easier in that then the user does all the work of creation while you just confirm it once you're certain they're legit.

the dns honeypot block should help with that in a more automatic fasion. (ip range blocking)
also, account confirmation is enabled, or at least the setting that says 'require confirmation to edit' is there. And some spam bots have the ability to do that - that would explain why only about half of the bogus accounts actually create a page. ( $wgEmailConfirmToEdit = true; - is in the settings, just double checked to make sure it wasn't like the captcha!)
Updated Sentinel Tactics Stats and Power Cards for AZ. Please take a look and let me know what you think. If everything looks good I'll begin working on adding the other Hero and Villain information. Link below.
I keep meaning to figure out a good way to do the Tactics hit die charts.... I have a few ideas in mind, but I'll need time to think about it. Probably not till after christmas because of how busy work is around here.
if you want, I did some scans from the roll20 tactics board with hit and miss version of each number based upon scaned and spliced images from the cards themselves.
Awesome! If I have time this weekend (on six days thru Christmas) I'll look into figuring out a template for ease of use. Something like {tactics:1,3} automatically puts out 1-6 with 1 and 3 as misses. That's my idea for it anyways
I thought I'd take a stab at adding clarification information to a hero's page on the wiki. I did Bunker, because he was on the first page and seemed pretty straightforward. Before I do any more, I figure'd I'd show this one and see what you thought about format: http://sentinelswiki.com/index.php?title=Bunker#Clarifications
Two thoughts right away:
The hero pages are definitely going to need a table of contents at the top with all these sections now!
When we do this for a hero, villain, or environment, we're going to have to remember to search the Fireside Chat thread not just for that hero, etc.'s name, but also all the cards in their deck.
I made a few changes, upped the level of the Clarifications header, dropped it below the Sentinel Tactics Power cards level. Seems to make sense. Also, pulled the clarifications onto their own page that is included into Bunker (like the References) and adjusted the formating.
Yeah. ToC is something I'm working on, on the side. I'm learning more about wiki code than I ever have before (which is totally a blast) and I'm close to being able to do a Character Template, that will work for any setup. I think I know what to do, and how to code it, I just need to have the time to do so.
When I do template the character pages, a) thats a ton of work to convert them, but eh, that's life :P and b) there will definitely be a ToC involved. They certainly have gotten much weightier since I started this project.
The design is the tough part, but something will be found! There was a Redditor who was working on a alternate design for the Character pages, but seems to have dropped off. I'll probably be appropriating some of those ideas when I get into this fully, sometime after christmas.
When you put a clarification onto an individual page for a character, if that clarfication did not involve any other characters, delete it from the to-do page. I did that for one of the Bunker items I moved (other Bunker items involved other characters!)
Whew! I just finished moving hero-specific clarifications onto their individual hero pages. That means, if you have a question about whether there was a Fireside Chat clarification on any particular hero (or card in their deck), you can now go straight to the wiki page for that hero!
Guise and Mister Fixer had a lot.
Villains and Environments are still to be done. I am gradually moving them off of this page to the individual pages.
So, I'm basically done. I just need to make sure I didn't miss any on the general clarifications page and then reorganize that one to be a little more friendly for general clarifications, but I'm tired.
I have also not gone through all Spiff's rule notes yet.
But, at this point, every Hero, Villain, and Environment page should have a list of Fireside Chat clarifications at the bottom!
great! now were going to move all those individual pages we made (charactername/Clarifications) onto the same page with the same code thats on the character page... . just all of them at once. (Like the Master References Page). That way people can look at them either by character, or all at once, and we only have to edit one page if anything changes in the future
I did a little organizing today. With the whole list available at once, I'm not 100% sure about the formatting now, but I think this is at least good for collecting everything together by deck. Is there a wiki-way to keep level 3 headings out of the TOC?
Items that are still seemed valid from Spiff's FAQ are added as part of clarifications now for the various decks. I did not add references to card changes in the Enhanced Edition though.

I didn't see citations for the various rulings (i.e. links to how we know it's true directly from the designer's mouths).
