Rules Clarification - Slow powers after blight

So... say you got a Slow, Range 0 from Presence power. Yet during Ravage, a Blight gets placed down where you were going to use it. You don't have any presence there anymore. Does that power no longer work there (and could you, theoretically, just use it somewhere else you have presence if you wanted to?

I know its somewhat silly, because you can see the blight coming ahead of time, but I'm wondering for if you can play it anyways, and use it after the blight to do ... well whatever it is (my wife was playing as Shadows and was going to move some stuff out of one land so we could deal with it next turn, but she made the call that it wouldn't work)

Oh. and loving the game. We lost a BUNCH in a row, should have won that first "progression" game, but forgot to be taking fear for destroying towns/cities, but finally won tonight with Shadows and Thunderspeaker. Ohhhh boy Thunderspeaker is a LOT of fun, running around the board with a couple dozen dahan and murderizing colonists.

For targetting, you can only use presence (and sacred sites) that is on the map at the time you are activating the power. So if your presence gets destroyed during Ravage, you can't use it to target slow powers.

Glad you're having fun. Shadows and Thunderspeaker is a fun combination, particularly with Shadows' ability to protect the Dahan (thus Thunderspeaker's presence) during ravage.

Correct, the power no longer works there.

In general, you don't decide where slow powers are going to be used until you activate them. The game will flow much more smoothly when you get in the habit of not pre-planning everything in detail; like, there's likely to be someplace with an Explorer to destroy, I don't need to decide exactly where that will be.

(Hmm, I thought there was advice to this effect in the rulebook, but can't find it now.)

As a reminder, I'll put the influence tokens on the card when I play them. Then when I activate the powers on each card, I'll remove the tokens and return them to the bank. That way I can keep track on what powers I've used.
