Ok, as Christmas is now over, time to organise for January. Given World Sentinels Weekend is the 10th and 11th, that would seem to be a sensible weekend to aim for, but any weekend will do. All Saturdays are at the Frog, Sundays are at the Railway Tavern by Liverpool Street.
Civilized men are more discourteous than savages because they know they can be impolite without having their skulls split, as a general thing.

Looks like it's gonna be toward the end of the month for us - Ja'Ph' is having some building work done at his house so it's a bit of a mess there atm but he says it should be done within the next couple of weeks (when we have a London meet, we go from his place). Plus he hasn't checked when he's off yet.
Does anyone know what the motorcycle parking is like near either of those venues? With the one day travel card going up by 35% yesterday, I'm probably only going to go to venues I can ride to. I think the Liverpool St one may have something nearby, but don't know anything about the Frog.
Bookings for London on Board open next Sunday for the 25th, just to remind people to book. Hopefully Wrath will have arrived by then.
ViolentSilence,
Not sure of the parking situation, but I think there are some motorbicycle bays in the Finsbury Circus/Bloomfield Street area which is almost right next to the pub, if there aren't any closer. There's some building work next to the pub so that parrt of Liverpool Street (1-14) may not be accessible.
I so want to be there but it looks like another day when my better half will be doing college work again. What time are you guys planning to stay there till? I might be able to swing by for the evening but not much point if most of you will be there for the day then heading home early.
Any tips on recognising you guys? I notice there are 75 people signed up and the profile pictures are for the names I recognise are both cartoons! I'll be carrying a white motorcycle helmet if that helps you
Apologies for the late withdrawal, my bike lost the back end on diesel so I'm figuring a good part of the remainder of the day might well be in the local A&E gettying my hip checked out.
Well, the bike is a write off (cracked engine casing, fairing damage vs the depreciation), and walking is still uncomfortable, but getting better. Will be on public transport for the next one!
What day do people feel like having the February meetup on? I'd lean towards tne 22nd to give the maximum possible time for Wrath and Villains playtesting cards, assuming Vilains is the next thing playtested, to appear.
As a note, the sessions would be at the Mad Hatter, rather than the Railway Tavern, so the nearest statin is Blackfriars.
Oh good, that's a bit less of an arse to get to :). Ja'Ph' should be online at some point within the next hour or so, so I'll try and remember to ask him about his days off. I expect...ooh, wait, he's literally just logged in right now :D. He says he's gonna double-check tomorrow but the 22nd should be okay. I'll let you know :).
Fingers crossed for the 29th - would have made the February one but for a friend having a birthday party on that day... but on the plus side, he LOVED Guise!
It's a DIce Hate Me game about being chemists in a lab, described as Ticket To Ride weight (and thoroughly enjoyed!) by Tom Vasel. I'm interested as I'd like a game about that difficulty, but find the train theme a complete turn-off!
I've never heard of "Ticket to Ride" either, lol...well, other than the Beatles song ;).
I did have a brief scroll through the Dice Hate Me stuff on the page right after the merge thingy was announced, but at a glance pretty much every game seemed to be about drinks (coffee and beer, mainly) so nothing grabbed my attention. If there'd been pictures of dragons or something I might've had a closer look ;).
Silverleaf, you mentioned a train game and DIDN'T make a pun?

Maybe among board-gamey people, but I'm more of a computer-gamey person. Pretty much every tabletop game I play is something that was introduced to me by someone else, and even then I mostly play Sentinels ;). If you were talking about Titan Quest or the Elite series or something, then yeah, I'd instantly know what you were talking about ;).
Took about ten minutes, but managed to sign up :D.

Signed up again, but with my track record who knows?
Hopefully I'll actually be able to make it this time without anything coming up at the last minute!
Dang it! There is a clash with something else that weekend so I'll have to drop out again. :annoyed face:

If things progress as usual, we'll be the table right next to the bar, with a big silver wheely case to hold all the SotM stuff.
Upstairs bar, unless something's changed.

Nah, it's not uncommon for a non-boardgamer type to have played TTR. They sell it in Waterstones.
