GSF Randomizer

Hey, playtesters!  Want a randomizer for your GSF games?  No?  Well I made one anyway.  Works just like the SotM one.

www.spiffworld.com/gsf/randomizer.cfm

I'll put a link to it in my regular SotM site's navbar too.

Nice job!
Sector 3 is my favorite.
Seriously, become a playtester.

Seriously, become a playtester.

I can't. :(  I have a philosophical problem with the idea of paying someone for the privelege of testing their product for them.  Sadly, that's always seemed like the kind of thing they should be paying for, not the other way around.  I keep hoping that my contributions to the SotM community will add up to at least $40 in >G's minds and they'll comp me a playtester slot, but that doesn't seem to be in the cards, so I remain on the outside, being a pain in everyone's arse, looking in. :)

I don't think that the $40 is meant to make GtG money. I think it was setup in order to separate the really serious playtesters from the poeple that just want a sneak peak. If GtG made it free (or even a small fee), many people would sign up just for the sneak peak with very few of them really interested in putting in the time and money (you have to print everytihng yourself) to help make a better product.

The $40 price mark was also set that high in order that people really take it seriously. You always treat something better and with more respect when you have to pay a significant amount for it. At that price, few people will be a playtester just to have a sneak peak, but rather you have to really consider whether or not you have the ability and time to contribute something meaningful.

As an example, I started giviing CPR classes at the school I work at. The first class was free (the school paid for it), but the rest cost the students money. The first class had the most students, but it was the students in the other classes that really took the class seriously.

If you select 1 player it only gives you one ship (the minimum is 2 ships). I am not sure if this was purposely left in or not.

I didn't know the minimum was 2 ships.  That'll be easy to change.  I wasn't sure if anyone was using it.

I cleaned up the GSF Randomizer today, replacing old art from the Kickstarter with some newer stuff.  It still functions exactly the same.

I guess it's a life-sized atom from a GSF box.

As near as I can tell, it doesn't have anything to do with GSF or my randomizer, so I think think posting about it in this thread might have been either a mistake or a red herring.

It doesn't have anything to do with either of those things, but it does have something to do with giving you an exclusive something or other in recognition of all your hard work, as discussed above =)
