Favorite Sentinel Comics Runs?

What are some of your guys favorite Sentinel Comics runs? Some of mine are....

-Bendis, Brubaker and Miller all had spectacular runs on Mr Fixer! So many classic moments in Miller's run, but Bendis really defined The Chairman for me.

- Brubaker also wrote a great "America's Greatest Legacy" run. The way he made Legacy more than just Paul was big for me. Love how the SCU have used his run in their movies.

I am super stoked that Geoff Johns is moving over to Freedom Five! I can't wait to see what he does with the characters!

(So, are we just going to use parody names of pre-existing comic writers?)

His name is Sephiroth but his friends call him Sephie.

(Nope, since I doubt the writers or companies have copyright on their own names. And we're just having fun here. :) )

(The way I look at it is in an alternate reality those same people might indeed be the ones writing and telling great stories.)

That said.

I absolutely love anything by Kurt Buisek and Alex Ross. They had a super deep and gritty look when they worked on Dark Watch. I'm really excited to see what else they have in store.

I really liked what Max Landis did with Legacy: American Hero. Getting all those different art styles in each individual issue to demonstrate the different parts of his life and how Paul grows into the Legacy we know.

The first story done with his father as well as the last one with Paulina really made me smile. If for entirely different reasons.

Personally I was just happy when they let Al Ewing take over the Prime Wardens and Virtuoso reboots, after he did so awesome with his bits of the Greazer and Captain Cosmic, and Akash'Thriya and Naturalist arcs. Guy's really great at both bringing up forgotten comic lore and writing about weird existential ideas with British humor.

Not always the best at social skills; I apologize in advance. I don't apologize for any corny and morbid jokes, though.

Resident Argent Adept and Biomancer fangirl, be forewarned.

I'll second the love for Legacy: American Hero. I loved the connection with the past/present/future, with Felicia, Legacy, and Greatest Legacy. As for Brubaker, he did a great job on Greatest Legacy, but I don't remember anything particularly good of his in the Mr. Fixer book. I don't think it needs to be said, but Jack Kirby on Enclave. Finally, I know I've said this before, but I'll say it again: The old Wraith books are the best comics. Period. I just love all the mystery and the intrigue, and ugh. It's so good. I can't for the life of me remember who did that run though. Any help?

I can't believe you guys are ignoring the British invasion. Jamie Delano's run on Nightmist, Alan Moore's Man-Grove, Grant Morrison's Naturalist... Even the one-shots were good. Remember Orbo Doesn't Socialise?

I've got to say one of my favorite runs of Legacy was 'The Death of the Iron Curtain', written by J.M. Dematteis. Out of the many things I loved about it, it showed how no matter what he's able to do or what he accomplishes, he still only considers himself just a man. And how he fought Iron Curtain to live more than any other reason... Fantastic.

Hickman on Void Guard was awesome. He took that team to a level that I don't think anyone expected. Him killing Medico was really a bold choice, and bringing in Setback to replace him for a year was an interesting dynamic.

Slott upcoming on Void Guard could also be interesting.

Personally, I liked the sheer amount of weird that Claremont brought to Tome of the Bizarre.

But I think I'm just as interested in seeing what G Willow Wilson is going to do with Daybreak.

Did anyone else read Mignola's Disparation series: "The Gloom that Came to Rook City"?

It's an absolute classic.  Very Nightmist and Wraith-heavy, but criminally underrated.  I'd love to see an animated version of it someday...
