I think this is the second time C&A have referenced Ghostbusters and then start singing Neil Cicirega's Bustin' rather than the original song, and it makes me happy every time.

Just to get it off my chest: Steel is made by mixing iron and carbon.  Iron and oxygen makes rust, which is neither difficult to make nor particularly useful in tool-making.

You're correct -- I assumed he was trying to refer to the Bessemer process, which does start by pumping oxygen through the molten iron to burn off the carbon and most of the impurities, before they add carbon back in to the correct percentage.
