I like to imagine that when the police found Ermine tied up in the museum, she had a note stuck to her. Something along the lines of, "This furred filcher compliments of your friendly neighborhood Wraith."
Harry Potter reference. In the German translation of the Harry Potter books Hermoine is called Hermine. In "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fires" Viktor Krum, Hermoine's boyfriend at the time, tries in vain to pronounce Hermoine's name correctly. In the German version he always says 'Ermine instead of Hermine.
I don't think GtG will make a mistake like this. I'll guess that Maya is Maria's Maia's twin sister.

It's Ermine as in stoat or weasel; it appears to be continuing the Batman theme as a play on Catwoman
