Greetings Sentinels Fans!
We can now confirm that Greater Than Games will be in London on 20 October 2013 hosting a Greater Than Games Game Day at Leisure Games in London! We (Christopher and Paul - no Adam, sadly) will be there during the store's entire operating hours from 11am to 5pm, and will be giving out promo cards, playing games, and answering (some) questions. Everyone in the UK some come say hi!

Omg YAY :D. My partner and I will be there, wheee :D. I'll need to look the place up and remind myself of where it is, and then see which Tube station is nearest but we'll manage to get there somehow!
Which promo cards will be available? I think the ones I need are the ones that are out of print - the ones that came out before I got hold of the game myself and learned of their existence - Rook City Wraith, Redeemer Fanatic, Horus Ra, and Young Legacy.

BOOYA! :D
I really, really hope I can make this...

Yay! I'll try my hardest to be there. ;)
Just assume I'm always doing that.
Damn it, Ronway!
Adding to diary. I will see you then. I promise to bring only one sheet of paper with questions. I don't promise it won't be A0 size.
G+ games: I am part of the 100%
I will do my best to be there in spirit, but probably not like one of those friendly ones. I'll probably do things like steal people's shoes.
Good ideas are usually just bad ideas a stubborn person eventually fixed.
i will be there for sure.
Great to see such enthusiasm for this event, we're really looking forward to it.

Yay, free food :D. I don't suppose you (or anyone else) happen to know how long the Tube journey is to Finchley Central from Victoria, by any chance? That's where my partner and I will be arriving when we come into London on the train and it'll be nice to know how early we need to leave ;).

TFL reckons it'll take about 35 minutes :)

Hmm, okay, cool...that's quite a while but I suppose it's quite far from the centre of London. Looks like we'll be getting up pretty early that morning ;).

Seems like I need to sort out accomodation for the Saturday night... it'd be a really long day if we travelled there and back in one day!
Looking forward to a trip to London, plus meeting you guys. :)
Just assume I'm always doing that.
Damn it, Ronway!
I am looking forward to it too! I have never been in the UK before and am excited about it.

I will probably just call everyone by their forum name, just so you know ;).

I have a hoodie with Meerkat on the back of it, so that'll be convenient :D

I might have to arrange myself a Silverleaf tshirt then. :)
Actually, that gives me an idea...

Damn it, Ronway!
Might be nice if there were name tags. Forumites could put their handle on as well as their name.

I've been bringing stickers to the Cons with me that I use to make sure both my forum handle and name are on my Con badge.

Fortunately, I look exactly like my avatar so that will be an easy win for me.
In case anyone has joined since we last chatted about this -- looking forward to seeing some of you all in London! Just a few weeks away now.

It's good that you have your own cowering human servant, will he be coming with you this time?

So I was going to ask, anyone fancy meeting up the night before for drinks (optional) and the talking of nonsense (not optional) and the fanboy/girl-ish raving about the game (absolutely not optional)?
And since I don't live in London or know it very well, venue recommendations are very much needed. ;)
Just assume I'm always doing that.
Damn it, Ronway!
Ha! I can not think of a good retort. All my ideas aren't half as clever as this.
(quarter-as-clever: Please do not mention the human servant. It is very embarassing that he survived for so long)
(eighth-as-clever: Are you saying the same human is in both pictures? I can't tell them apart)
(sixteenth-as-clever: No, he has been exterminated)

@Silverleaf
It would be great to meet up Sat evening!
Christopher and I land on Saturday morning, at which point we won't have working phones and will rely on our wits to get us from Heathrow to our lodgings, presumably using "the tube" or some such. I know that Leisure Games is "in London", but also "in Finchley". Our lodging is also "in London", but I don't have a good sense of scale or transit times, being as I've never been to the UK.
In any case, we don't have any particular plans, though I do have a preference for good beer (and being as I'll be in the UK, I'll have the CAMRA app and Good Beer Guide to help find it), Christohper has a preference for good cider and good scotch whisky, and we both have a preference for things that are cool and historical and older than our entire country.
To that end, our plan on Saturday is to wander around London and find cool things and a cool place to get drinks and possibly food. It would be awesome to meet up with you and anyone else who'd like to! The logistics will be a particular challenge, though hopefully we'll be able to find some Wi-Fi and check emails and/or tweet about things (we often tweet via @GTGamesLLC when we are hanging out somewhere before / at a convention or the like).
Anyhow, let me know if you have any thoughts to add!

I knew something fishy was going on here.
Heathrow to Central London is around 3/4 of an hour by train/tube
You might want to look at the Transport for London web site as it will at least give you an idea of how long it takes to get places in London by public transport, and some slim idea of what route to take. www.tfl.gov.uk
G+ games: I am part of the 100%
Depending on whereabouts in London you're gonna be, and at what time, and on whether or not my partner is working that day (he's just got a new job so doesn't know the full rota for the next month yet), we might possibly come along. We'll definitely be there on Sunday though, as mentioned previously :).

I'll, um, teleport over. I could do with seeing ubiquitous fish and chip stalls. You guys have that technology, right? Bring me over?

I'm also arriving Sat morning. Christopher, Paul, and I are going to meet up at the flat we're renting (near the Holloway Rd and the Highbury/Islington) tube stops. My guess is that it will be 2-3 before we all get there.
I suggest we pick a place to meet that has good drink and at least reasonable food and a rough time estimate -- perhaps 6-7pm -- of when we'll get there. Anything near a tube stop should be fine.
In fact, How about Harp (47 Chandos Place, WC2N 4HS)?

Andy, you are a gentleman and a scholar. I'm convinced. 6-7pm at Harp it is!
Who's going to try to join us?

I'm going to try!
I'm also going to fail, but at least I'm going to try!

I will try to move the massive 15 or so miles it is away from me. I might even succeed

Me!
And far less importantly, my boyfriend as well (who incientally is also a fan of cider and Scotch whiskey).
I haven't planned out our accommodation or transport yet (I really should get on that) but we're most likely going to arrive midday-ish and look at London-y things during the afternoon. I might insist on a visit to the Tower of London just to look at the ravens, because ravens are awesome...
The Harp place looks good, and I'm very much looking forward to meeting you guys. :)
Just assume I'm always doing that.
Damn it, Ronway!
Maybe. It dpeends if this is the one day during October I'll be able to hook up with my brother and his family. If it is, sorry, guys, but I'll have to just see you on Sunday.
G+ games: I am part of the 100%
I probably won't make it on the Saturday evening, however as I live only a few minutes from Heathrow I could potentially offer you some transportation to wherever you are staying.
Just go in a Matriarch costume and yell about people's souls.
And quote bad poetry? I can totally do that.
Just assume I'm always doing that.
Damn it, Ronway!
Due to the travel times of coming up from Kent (and going back there again afterwards) and the time of the meeting, and the fact that neither myself nor my partner are massive fans of generic "socialising in a pub"-type stuff, we won't be around in the evening but will still be along on Sunday :).

Getting close now!

Eleven days and counting. I received an Oyster card in the mail a couple days ago. Today my travel pillow (http://www.travelrest.net/) arrived. I've been thinking about foreign currencies, Tube maps, visa requirements (none!), and, as you've seen, pubs.
I think the major task I have between now and the trip is to tamp down on the excitement enough to arrive reasonably rested.

So here's a question.
I am presuming that most (if not all) of your demo equipment is getting shipped to Essen while you are in the UK (I don't imagine you're shipping it to the UK and then to Germany from there), do you want/need us to bring along our copies of the game to make it easier for you/us?

I was absolutely planning to bring my game anyway (so I can persuade the guys to sign the box) so that'd be fine with me.
Just assume I'm always doing that.
Damn it, Ronway!
Yes, definitely bring your copies of the game!
I am emergency-shipping 12 copies of Enhanced Edition to Leisure Games from the factory in China so that they have some to sell in case anyone wants to buy it. The whole country is sold out at this point, and other than these 12 games, no one will have it back in stock in the UK until late November/early December most likely.

I love this line.

Out of stock is great news!
Of course, not for those people who want to buy a copy... but awesome that so many have sold.
And I for one am completely prepared to show how fantastic this game is to as many new people as I can. It's the least I can do in return for the countless hours of fun I've had from the game, and for the countless hours of future fun I intend to have with it as well.
Just assume I'm always doing that.
Damn it, Ronway!
I was wondering whether I should bring my copy of the game along. I will do, then, and hopefully get to introduce some new people to it. Looking forward to next week :D.

I think everyone is asking the wrong question. Let me try. Are you bringing a copy of Vengeance along?
