about flying (mobility vs. real flying a.k.a tachyon vs. legacy)

some few questions about mobility...

yesterday we were playing legacy and tachyon vs. Baron Blade. We discussed a lot about mobility (both tachyon and legacy). You can see legacy flying around megalopolis at level 20 (yes....high very high) to avoid being punished by Blade inventions and soldiers but Tachyon is simply jumping around following the level of each building... so in plain rules lenguage, we decided to let Legacy avoid triggering hazard spaces since he is flying, but Tachyon not unless she was using her special power that let her pass without triggering hazard spaces. Think this is not following the rules but will be verty tematic...what you guys think?

another question hazzard spaces trigger inmediately  if the entrance was in the last movemet? or in this instance you have to wait until the to be continued phase to activate them?

If you're looking at home rules for this kind of thing (which would probably be fun, if a little broken wink), check out elevation tools like Combat Tiers or Dr. Wizard's Elevation Indicator, or even Alea Tools, as they also work well for this kind of thing.

Did you let Legacy attack?  Because flying at elevation 20 would ruin his atttacks as well.

Making flying work in that way would require a whole lot of rules being added, and unbalance the game quite a bit.

Visionary could make her teameffectively invincible by floating everyone too high to be attacked.

I was using the flying smash...well...the plan was to fly high and land in a central space in which i could potentially finish 3 different blade inventions...flying was the only way to get there witout triggering the spaces since mobility let you move without taking into account changes in elevetion, meaning Legacy can move from elevation 20 to floor without any problem...o so we thought....wink

For the record, Mobility doesn't let you ignore hazard spaces, or affect your elevation at all -- it just lets you ignore elevation for movement purposes.

Sounds like you're assuming they can't shoot up? devil

These are the kinds of unbalancing things and open questions that will come up with home rules like this. It can be thematically fun, but it makes the game more complex, opens all kinds of questions, etc. Because it's not cooperative, you'll have to make sure everyone is on the same page as to how things should work, unless your gaming group is just really big on theme and not as big on competition. cool

Guys thanks for the thoughts. Yesterday we try it again and definitely, as rabit says, flyng could be fun but destroy the game.... So mobility only let legacy move without payng atention to elevation changes no to hazard spaces.... Baron Blade is so VERY happy!!!!

Until Legacy goes Danger Sense/Flying Smash and smashes those well meaning turrets into oblivion.
