A Villains Game in Three Acts

Sergeant Steel, Ambuscade, and Proletariat battled Sky-Scraper, Mister Fixer, and Nightmist in the Enclave of the Endlings.

At first, the game was all about controlling Sergeant Steel, because he was the only real threat. Ambuscade was hilariously bad - putting snares on Mister Fixer and Nightmist such that Fixer with his Jack Handle could bash the entire board extra-hard and Nightmist escaped a good deal of self-damage. Between the two of them, Proletariat couldn't keep a clone in play. Steel's best weapon was the retaliation from his Mega-Gunner.

Though Ambuscade and Steel weren't holding onto much health, neither were the heroes. All had under ten points. They made a plan: the Thorathian Monolith would cover Nightmist as she set up a two-round Mists of Time/Mist-Fueled Recovery combo to get the heroes back on top. Sky-Scraper's turn was TOO excellent, unfortunately: she destroyed a Neutralizing Resonator to destroy a snare, Left Hooked Sergeant Steel into oblivion, took Monolith form, and then clapped to finish off some clones and Ambuscade. Therein lay the problem: fully five nemeses appeared, including the accursed Glamour. They incapacitated Sky-Scraper immediately, followed in short order by Fixer. Nightmist finished her combo, recharging up to mid-teens of health, and the serious question of the game became: could she outlast Proletariat and the Slaughterhouse Six?

Fortunately, Glamour is just as allergic to Mubbloxian venom as anybody. With her out of the picture, Nightmist threw out some damage-dealing cards in place of her incapacitated allies, finishing off the Six. Proletariat tried to regroup and recover in imitation of the heroes' earlier strategy, but he was clearly on the back foot. Nightmist's Heedless Lash hit him, but unfortunately, it wasn't quite enough by a couple points. The environment at this point was quite toxic, as we held our breath as the Korrupton and Mubbloxian proceeded to nick away at both hero and villain alike. In the end, Proletariat succumbed first, and the bedraggled hero escaped the Enclave with a victory!

I do love a good swingy game.
