Weekly One-Shot 195 Storm Chips

Progeny has arrived in the Maerynian Refuge. Opposing him are Xtreme Prime Wardens Tempest, Eternal Haka, Expatriette and Tachyon.

Good luck, heroes.

Mint. Surprisingly, I only lost Tempest, though Tachyon survived entirely due to Synaptic Interruption.

I don't have any particular advice, I just did stuff and it worked out. :B Take that first round of no card plays to stock your hands, and you'll be fine.

Mint, everyone up, only Tachyon below 10, though Tempest came close to biting it.

It was a harrowing start, and it took a few rounds to feel like i was doing something, but then a few big hits coupled with GP and HB keeping us safe really turned the tide.

Mint with 3/24/25/8, though I am not entirely sure how Expat ended with higher hp than Haka....

Slow start with no card plays followed soon after by Destroy H things, but it worked out. Tempest got really low but managed to get out a Clensing Downpour and just used that repeatedly to hover between above 0 and below 5 for most of the game. That combined with a Subwave Inducer set to Radiant and Shielding Winds meant Progeny just focused on him without killing him.

Everyone else just slowly worked down Progeny while Haka built up a giant hand of cards, Expat got all her guns out and an Unload in hand, and Tachyon filled her trash with burst cards. Once everyone had enough damage stacked up, Progeny went down hard.

Plavu'col was surprisingly unhelpful to start, but nothing too terrible.

He destroyed me first game.

How ow do you guys keep all your ongoings? How did you guys get synaptic interruption so soon?

He destroyed me the second game even before I could use the cleansing downpour.

Like, I’m not doing anything wild or crazy.

I THOUGHT I was the the last Scion but it's actually .....

I never had an issue keeping ongoings out. He nuked my equipment at one point, which sucked, since I didn't find another shotgun for quite a while. And I didn't have Synaptic Interruptions until the very end of the game, I was pretty lucky that way. :B

It might have to do with your prioritization of Scion destruction? Like, always drop Storm when you have a chance, that's the worst one, you don't need him playing more cards. Fire is actually the least bad (well, maybe Frost is, you've got some strong damage dealers on this team), so if you're constantly trying to get rid of that to save your team damage, you might be hamstringing yourself? That's all I can think of.

I only lost my ongoings once. I played Reclaim from the deep to recover them (specifically Cleansing Downpour). One key move I did later was play into the Stratosphere as much as I could to stall out Progeny's deck. Also, get rid of Scion of Storm as the highest priority whenever it enters play.

I wish Tempest had lived long enough to play Into the Stratosphere; instead, he got KO'd the round after he drew it. Ah well - once Tempest was KO'd, Progeny had flipped and we stabilized. Haka did nothing but play both Ground Pounds to help keep Tachyon alive, while building cards (in part helped by Dominion and Tempest wiping the environment board every round) until he could dump 17 cards toward the final blow. Expat got out a ton of guns and kept shooting. Tachyon survived four straight rounds at 3 HP thanks to 2x Ground Pound and 2x Synaptic Interruption, while firing off three 9-10 damage Lightspeed Barrages. Progeny dropped immediately after reshuffling his deck.

Mint at 0 / 14 / 10 / 3.

Mint, but wth Tempest and Tachyon both down. Tempest died pretty quick, Tachyon got to do just a single Light Speed Barrage before going down due to a miss play on my part. Was able to pull it back with a decent Unload and a big Haka of Strength. Eventually some Guards started helping. Started pretty tough and I was fairly convinced I was going to lose, but things calmed down after the first few turns.

Near mint, with Haka at 12 and everyone else KO'd.  Tempest went down early, followed by Tachyon, but she allowed me to recycle Ground Pound to keep going, while takinng occasional breaks for the environment to get in lightning damage.  Got destroyed the first time, though; that start is rough, with Expatriette in particular just sitting there for her first turn.

Mint but it was close due to a few mistakes early on. An Incapacitated Tempest boosting all lightning damage and a Lightning Rod (or whatever it's called) protecting everyone but Progeny from said damage meant the Squall Guards were actually rather effective at helping fend off Progeny.
