Well, I can ramble a little bit. Feel free to ask specific questions if you have them. It's all made out of cutoffs from other projects and found scraps (I even "found" the candle in a cupboard).
The minor power icon is plasma cut from a sheet of mild steel. The coloration is a heat effect applied with an acetylene torch (when steel is heated to ~300-600 degrees F, a thin oxidation layer forms; the color indicates the temperature reached).
The supporting elements are all forged mild steel. Some of them are welded to the top piece and some just wrap around it. I was going to epoxy them into the holes in the wood, but the fit is tight enough that the epoxy is unnecessary.
The wood is a chunk of hard maple. Maple is pretty light in color and I wanted the base to have more visual weight, so I scorched it in the forge. There was also lots of sawing and sanding involved.
Fun reading about how you put it together, too. My wife smiths, when she has the time - I'd ask questions about the forging, but would need to call her in to understand the answers. :) (I've taken a 1-session "taste of blacksmithing" class but that's all.)
I'm glad you guys like it. It was a lot of fun to work on. Now I'm spinning my wheels on what my next fan art project might be, when I have time for another one.
A 1:215'th scale replica of the island hand crafted out of Siberian beeswax anchored to a Jamaican mesquite baseboard. I suppose you could use local beeswax, but we all know that the Siberian stuff is the best.
Very nice. What is it?

Thanks. It's the minor power symbol. Also, I can put a tea pot on top and it keeps my tea warm.
Wow, that's amazing. Can you say something about the construction?

Wow. Really, really cool.
Hi. My name's Andy. Feel free to call me Andy, since, ya know, that's my name. (he/him/his)

Bwahahahaha! Now I know the secret!
Hmmm. I need to be more careful about giving away trade secrets in the future.
That is *awesome*!
